Construction Zone Liability

Construction workers and pedestrians walking through designated constructions zones should not be hurt due to the negligence of another.  Unfortunately, there are many incidents of negligence arising from in, and around construction zones.  People in construction zones often face dangerous or even life-threatening situations on a daily basis.  You should realize that when you are injured in these conditions, you might have an action against the construction site owner, developer, construction company, and/or subcontractors.

Construction companies also have a responsibility for protecting pedestrians on a nearby sidewalk.  Signs are not always enough.  A construction company often has the responsibility for keeping the construction site clear of bricks and other debris that may cause a pedestrian to slip and fall.

For construction workers, worker compensation laws may affect the compensation that you earn from your hiring company, but you still may be able to collect damages from third-parties that are responsible in part for your injury.

Other cases of accidents due to the negligence of others include:

  • Subcontractor or contractor negligence
  • Scaffolding fall accidents
  • Falls from unsecured ladders
  • Injuries caused by falling objects or debris
  • Electrocution accidents
  • Crane accidents
  • Accidents and injuries caused by malfunctioning or defective equipment.

Regardless of what happened to cause your injury, we will investigate your claim and gather all of the evidence possible to make sure that you are adequately represented in your case.
